Escape to paradise at Sumilon Island! White-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and tropical bliss await. Your island getaway begins now!
Sumilon Island is an uninhabited island just off the southeastern coast of Cebu Island. Except for a small resort and lighthouse on the island, the island’s numerous visitors come from the mainland by boat to relax and enjoy a beautiful beach destination that is a perfect Instagram backdrop.
Except at high tide, Sumilon island has a fantastic white sand beach and large sand bar that makes for a great place to snorkel, dive, and get lit.

The public beaches areas are completely free (aside from a few hundred pesos to rent a boat) and have no amenities (including toilets). If you need anything, be sure to bring it with you, especially sunblock, food and plenty of drinks. Thankfully, it’s only a 15-minute boat ride back to Oslob where they have shops and amenities.
The Philippine islands are only a few degrees North of the equator. The sun is intensely hot there year-round and you’ll get a nasty sunburn without continual application of sunblock. Don’t be THAT person on the plane who is lobster-red.
Overall, Sumilon Island is a superb place to unwind and relax in the intensely hot Philippine sun, surrounded by the warm turquoise blue waters of the Philippine Sea.
